Computer to Plate Systems from Kimoto Kimoto computer to plate systems are chemical free and do not require fusing, special fountain solutions, or inks. Kimoto offers two direct to plate systems for print shops, the Kimosetter 410 and the new Kimosetter 525. The plates produced from these systems can be run on A.B.Dick, Baum, Hamada, Heidelberg, Multilith, and Ryobi printing presses. These systems will save you money by eliminating costly developing chemicals used in silvermaster and metal plate development. if you have questions about the Kimosetter 410 or 525 models, please contact us at 501-821-4579 or email budsgraphics@sbcglobal.net . .
The 410 comes with a RIP including Adobe Postscript 3 software, 117 Postscript Type 1 fonts, 19 Tru Type fonts and operates with Mac or PC systems through the USB interface. Equivalent to 1200 dpi and state of the art precision imaging technology, the Kimosetter 410 gives exceptional image quality resulting in smooth crisp text, sharp line work, high density solids and clean halftones. The e2 polyester plate is ideal for press run lengths up to 5000 impressions with not plate stretch. It does not require any special post fusing, chemicals, etch, or fountain solutions. The thermal transfer of the image from the 410 plate maker eliminates background toning. it is designed to run with most inks including oil base, rubber base, and soy base inks. Price: $4,770.00
The UV ink is hardened immediately by the exposure of UV light after imaging the plate. This ensures consistent dot size to create high frequency halftone screens. The UV image has an extremely strong adhesion to the plate and together with the base film thickness of 0.188mm the plate has excellent stability for print runs of 20,000+ impressions. This ensures good registration for multi color or four color jobs as well. The Kimosetter 525 uses the Ze non-sensitized polyester plate newly developed to be imaged exclusively on the 525. The Ze plate is designed to create the best image using UV ink without the need for special chemicals, etch, or fountain solutions. There is no post washing or post fusing, simply go to the press.
